Permissions: You need the Billing permission to return a claim to the therapist.
If you need to change something about a claim that appears on the daily note, such as billing codes or units, you can "return the claim" to the therapist so they can update the daily note. This will help you ensure the billing information listed on the documentation is consistent with the claim's information.
- Open the claim you want to return to the therapist.
- In the lower right, click the Return to Therapist button.
- Type in a message for the therapist that explains what you need, and click the Return Claim button.
The claim will be moved to the Waiting status, and the visit's daily note will appear for the therapist in their list of in-progress documents. A claim note will also be added with the reason you provided.
When they update the charges or sign the note again, the claim will appear back in the Reviewing status.
